Filtration protects components from contamination. Choose filter location and performance for the application.
What is happening technically?
A micron rating alone is not enough. Examine beta ratio, flow, pressure drop, bypass and the cleanliness target together.
In practice
If a clogging indicator is fitted, assess it under the manufacturer's specified temperature and flow conditions.
